Thailand emergency numbers: save the right contact before you need it

Start with the service that matches the emergency

Emergency contacts are operational information. Use this guide to prepare, then call the responsible service directly when help is needed.

Immediate danger or a crime in progress

Call 191. Give the exact location first, then explain what has happened.

Medical emergency or injury

Call 1669. State the location, what happened, the person's condition and a callback number.

Fire or rescue incident

Call 199. If anyone is injured, also call 1669.

Visitor assistance or language support

Call Tourist Police on 1155. For non-emergency tourism information, TAT lists 1672.

Road incident on a highway

The government contact list identifies Highway Police at 1193; use 1669 for injuries.

Practical preparation

Save the numbers in your phone with Thailand's country code format for use from another line if needed. Keep your accommodation name, district and a map pin available. On a moving vehicle or boat, say the route, direction and the nearest landmark rather than guessing an address.
