Claim-level official-source review

Thailand tourist scams: verify, pause and get official help

Use behavior-based safeguards instead of accusing a named person, business or neighborhood. Pause pressured payments, keep records, verify through the responsible official channel and route an active threat separately from a transaction dispute.

Tourist Police publishes the 1155 contact route

The Tourist Police Bureau publishes hotline 1155 and describes its application as a channel for assistance, translation and tourism information. The source does not promise response time, language availability, dispatch or resolution.

Evidence: Tourist Police Bureau English information

Source scope: Official Tourist Police contact and app-purpose information; not a service-outcome guarantee.

AOC 1441 identifies one official contact channel

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society's AOC 1441 page states that 1441 is its only contact channel and that AOC does not communicate through social media. Its account-response process is not represented here as universally available to every foreign visitor or non-Thai bank transaction.

Evidence: Ministry of Digital Economy and Society AOC 1441

Source scope: Official online-crime/account-response information; individual eligibility and recovery are not guaranteed.

Emergency and tourist-assistance contacts have separate roles

Thailand's government tourist-assistance page identifies 191 for Royal Thai Police emergencies, 1669 for medical emergencies and 1155 for Tourist Police. These are routing contacts, not a legal finding that conduct is fraud or a promise of a case outcome.

Evidence: Thailand Government tourist-assistance contacts

Source scope: Government emergency-routing information; recheck current numbers and use the route matching the incident.
